What did the Self-nurturing Sound Attunement Workshop with Laurie Lynn Clark look like ?
(location: Lotus Wings in Perth/ pre-pandemic)
A group of 8 women spent the first hour working with partners being creative in seeking new ways of understanding mental-emotional-physical-spiritual homeostasis: We connected to the breath while applying pressure to reflex points on each others' hands.
The final hour focused on deepening the breath while listening to the melodies of medicine flutes accompanied by the resonance of the quartz singing bowls.
Each of the eight women brought a journal, a blanket, a yoga mat, water, cozy clothing and an openness to practice interoceptive skills while reconnecting with the breath and body's reflex points in a safe and confidential sharing space. Connecting the breath to the body through applying pressure to hand reflex points enabled participants to breath into their body's associated plexuses (Medullary, cervical, dorsal, lumbar, sacral, and coccygeal plexuses).
The goal of this workshop was to gain insight and connection to one's interoceptive mind-body awareness skills through deepening the breath while applying pressure on reflex points of the hands and feet.
Receiving the opportunity to gather in a circle to connect and share each other's experiences brought forth the closing sentiments describing how each were feeling at the end of the workshop:
